Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 12:41PM Luckily I have a job where I get to emit all of my negative energy through creativity... because, boy has it been a week of slaps in the face. I really hope that next week fate treats me a little better.
On a good note, I had some fun projects at work. The first was a cake for my cousin Rachel's four-year anniversary:
Then some random birthdays and such:
Here is a wedding my boss set up, I think it turned out absolutely adorable. I made the cake at the top and some of the cupcakes below:
More birthday fun:
I love these ones, they remind me of creamsicles:
And a really cute cake that I got to do for a REALLY cute wedding. The couple was so fun and had excellent style:

1. Go to the store.
2. Head to the produce section.
3. Pick out the plumpest, juiciest Heirloom tomato you can find.
4. Buy it.
5. Come home.
6. Slice it up right away.
7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
8. Eat it, savoring each last bite.
9. You may as well have died and gone to heaven.
10. (In a good way.)
Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 4:05PM I used to call fifth grade "The Worst Year Ever". We had a group of four friends: Amy, me, and then two girls, both named Jenny S. Amy and I used to call them "The Jenny's", which was the cause of many fights. Fifth grade was a year of fighting with friends, all which ended with the four of us signing "The Declaration of Friendship", which made us all promise to be Best Friends Forever.
Haha, it is so funny to look back and remember how horrible I thought life was. Oh, the things you worry about as a child. Anyway, one of the "Jennys" got married today, very exciting! I got to do her cake as well. It is so fun to do cakes for people I know, it makes me reminisce of old times, and it's exciting to know that I get to be such a big part of their day.
Jenny has a very whimsical personality, which showed through in her cake. Congrats!

Monday, August 3, 2009 at 8:44AM (Above: just one of the families from the nine siblings of the reunion)
When Derek and I were dating, one of the best things I learned about his family is how well they can throw a family reunion. The first time I walked into one of them, my eyes immediately went to the food. Each family brings three dishes, and with a ton of families, it turns into a Las Vegas buffet of the best asian food you've ever had. Then there is a huge raffle, and they finish of the night with a game of Bingo, where just about everyone wins, except for a few losers that must just have really bad luck. ;)
Yesterday, Derek and I walked away with a ten lb. bag of jasmine rice, crocheted hot pads, a huge bag of salt water taffy, and two candles. Coming from a family who lives off garage sales, I was quite happy with our winnings =D.
Thank goodness Dez was there, since most of the time we stayed occupied playing with him:

The other relatives stayed occupied by giving Donna hugs and sneaking their name tags on to her back, ha!

This has to be one of the all-time best pictures ever taken.
Siblings Donna, Jay, Vicky, Carolyn, and Jeri. You can't deny that Carolyn's face is just perfect :)
Can't wait for next year! No, seriously.
